From June 9 to June 24 2012, you will be able to visit and enjoy some of the best works of prominent Singaporean photographer Mr David Tay Poey Cher. The exhibition is entitled ‘Coming of Age: Forgotten Faces of a Greying Asia’ and will be opened to the public from 11.00am to 6.00pm at the Ground Floor, Soka Exhibition Hall at the Wisma Kebudayaan Soka Gakkai Malaysia. The show will be opened at 3.00pm on June 9 and is a joint effort between Soka Gakkai Malaysia and The Photographic Society of Malaysia supported by the National Arts Council of Singapore.

With international printing company Epson sponsoring the prints, the ‘Coming of Age: Forgotten Faces of a Greying Asia’ brings together the works the David Tay who is one of the most distinguished photographers in the region. David was the first photographic artist in Singapore to have been awarded with the Cultural Medallion, the top arts award in the country for his works in this art form while he is also the president of the PSS (The Photographic Society of Singapore). He travels extensively where he captures what he sees and most specifically in the different aspects of ageing, one which is considered to be often overlooked.

His works are done with much delicacy where he respects the privacy and permission of those he photographed in which he ensures that he knows them better in order to capture the essence of the people. There will be other related programmes and events which will be held in conjunction with the show where he will be giving a talk as well as guided tours.
