”I Believe” Benefit Concert

The ”I Believe” Benefit Concert will be held from the 12 to 13 September 2011 at the Dewan Sivik MBPJ. The concert will start from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and tickets in the form of contributions will start at RM40 per entry. The theme is ‘I Believe’ and this is where the children of the StART Society will be given the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents where the event is set to raise funds in order to continue maintaining the programmes at StART. There are a wide variety of programmes at StART where some 350 underprivileged children are provided with free art, music, drama and dance lessons at the society.

There will be a list of guests artists and those who have confirmed to be performing include Juwita Suwito, Lee Elaine, Liang, Kabuki Breakers, T4C and some others who have yet to confirm their participation. The shelter homes which will be involved include Ozanam, Juara, Friends of Kapar, Agathians, Shelter, Ti-Ratana, Budimas and BNS.

This would be a great event if you are interested in performance arts where you will be able to enjoy a night of colours and music. Tickets are available at the StART Society as well as the PurpleHouz Art Gallery.
Just a Dream – The Green Play
This is one stage play which is ideal for the children, especially those between 4 to 10 years old. the Just A Dream – The Green Play is presented by The Little Company in association with Adventure Theatre Washington DC with a theme that reads “The hottest play about keeping the earth cool!”. The play will be held at klpac (Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre) from 15 September to 24 September with varying show times. On weekdays, tickets for the show are at RM38 while it is RM68 for the weekend and public holiday shows.
The play is about Walter who is ignorant about the importance of being environmental friendly where he is a litterbug and he then had a dream about a future which was totally different that the he could imagine. The dream became a wake-up call for him and the message is then conveyed to the spectators which is filled with humour and some touches of fantasy. The play was written by Chris Van Allsburg who also wrote other fantasy stories like Jumanci and The Polar Express. There will be special ticket prices for groups and school children while families too can purchase an RM132 promotion package (4 tickets) for weekdays and RM212 for weekends.
