The Masterpiece Auction House will be putting up 195 pieces of artwork from renowned Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian artists for auction this coming Sunday. The auction is scheduled to start from 1pm to 6pm where the bidding will take place.
The venue for the Masterpiece auction is at the Royale Chulan Hotel in Kuala Lumpur in which registration starts at 10.00am which is the same time when an art talk will be held. After the talk, a buffet lunch is provided before bidders get down to business.
This is the first public auction organized by the auction house for 2014 with 2 more in plans throughout this year. The organizers are expecting to rake up to RM4million in sales when the 195 pieces of artwork come under the hammer.
Among the 3 countries, 150 pieces of work are from Malaysian artists that include the likes of Khaw Sia, Datuk Sharifah Fatimah, Latiff Mohidin, Khaw Sia, Awang Damit, Datuk Chuah Thean Theng, Ahmad Zakii Anwar and Abdullah Ariff while representing Indonesia are artists like Widayat, Dullah, R. Hadi, Tatang Ganar, Nugroho Wijayabtmo and others.
Works from Chen Wen Hsi, Cheong Soo Pieng and Tan Choon Ghee are among works from Singapore which will come under the hammer.
