The Alliance Francaise de Kuala Lumpur is commemorating the International Womens Day with a one day photography exhibition and fashion show. It will be held on the 8th of March 2013 with a combination of 2 of the most celebrated art forms of today.
The art exhibition will be a portrait show by Shuhada Hasmi entitled The Beautiful Truth. This exhibition will showcase various portraits of women which will be demonstrating that true beauty is not on the face but within. Shuhada will be expressing her artistic emotions through her works that portrays women in an empowering position from all walks of life.
The other event which will be held during this celebration is the fashion organized in collaboration with The Association Balo. This is a movement which is aimed at helping a group of young Indian women to be financially independent in which they create their own range of clothing targeted for the European market which was an initiative set up in 2007. Clothes paraded at the show are available for purchase after the event. It must be noted that The Association Balo was established some 8 years ago to help underprivileged children in Calcutta in India through free education and medical care funded through events and programmes.
