A unique and very exciting group exhibition is being held at the Bastion House in Banda Hilir, Malacca. The show is entitled Pameran dan Karnival Artgeng is a collective effort of more than 1,600 pieces of art work showcased from self-taught artists not only within Malaysia but from other parts of the world as well.
Bastion House, a historical landmark in Malacca has been transformed into an art gallery to house the works of aspiring artists who come from different backgrounds. Most of them are Malaysians while there are some from Indonesia and further out from Saudi Arabia. There will be no big artist names involved here so it is not surprising that there are children and even housewives whose works are on show here.
The show is organized by Artgeng Galeria Malacca where the artists are between 4 and 60 years of age. The only criterion is that the artworks are either in 6x6 or 12x12 in size. A free themed style was adopted for this show where there will be art completed on oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed medium and charcoal or any other medium deemed appropriate. Another interesting thing about this show is that visitors can display their artwork on weekends throughout the show.
Opening hours: Daily: 9.00am to 5.00pm
