Design Conference + Exhibition – DDEC Design Summit 2012 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

The best in the global design industry is set to convene in Kuala Lumpur this coming 24th to 25th September 2012.  This is when the Design Conference + Exhibition will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre where the DDEC Design Summit 2012 will be held.

Set to integrate the likes of business and design and to build better relationships between the 2 industries, the DDEC is part of that Malaysia Design Year 2012 which was launched in January by the government to create more awareness about the development and the vibrant design industry of Malaysia. The Malaysia Design Year was themed ‘Malaysia Design for the World’ and the DDEC would be one of the major highlights of the initiative.

As part of the DDEC, the Malaysia International Design Exhibition will also be held concurrently. Organized by the Malaysia Design Development Centre, this will be one of the signature event where some of the best designs both local and international will be showcased for the appreciation of the general public while other events and activities are also lined up.

The theme for the DECC Design Summit is “Design X’Change” which focuses on the importance of design not only within the creativity fields but most importantly in the business sector. Essentially, this event will highlight the value of design that can be injected into businesses today which would play an important role from packaging to branding.

Visitors to the event will be immersed with several design elements that will be showcased which will cover animation and multimedia design, interior and architecture design, brand communications design, packaging design and many more. There will be panel discussions, talks, seminars while former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be at the official launch of the event with experts involved in sharing their experiences as well.
