The WAF Fine Art Gallery will be bringing most recent works of renowned artist Yeap Tho Sing to the art loving crowed through his latest solo exhibition. The show is entitled Gaias Offsprings and this will be an extension of the body of work from Yeap who has over the years developed his signature and trademark in the Malaysian art scene as one of the most remarkable aquatic artists around.
For this show, Yeap will be showing off his works on the beautiful nature and aquatic landscape through his works that have garnered him the unofficial title of The Painter of Aquatic Magnificence by Art Malaysia. Yeaps work has been seen in various public and private spaces and among the most recent ones were seen at the Hisago Modern Japanese Restaurant in Straits Quay, Penang where his painting White-lined Coral Cod/ Ephinephelus Leugrammicus was used and exhibited in an event that integrated art with fine dining during the GeorgeTown Festival 2012 entitled Fine Art Fine Dining organized also by WAF Fine Art Gallery.
The self-taught artist is one of the artists in Malaysia who has over the years produced some of the most compelling artworks through many exhibitions and events around the region. His works have often caught the attention of art lovers, collectors and enthusiasts especially through the intricate details of the fishes and other living beings that he depicts so well.
As an artist, he is well respected among his peers and those in the industry and more so by the Director of Galeri Seni Mutiara for his love for fish as the subject matter in his art work and his passion and dedication to art. Most of his works are inspired through his years of working for the Penang Fisheries Research Institute where he was the taxonomical artist with them for 34 years.
