Group Exhibition – Colours of Sabah – 15th December 2012 – 6th January 2013

Malaysia is home to some of the richest and most diverse culture and traditions. Hence, it is very common that Malaysian artists usually create artwork which is contemporary and filled with a lot of local flavour and cultural elements. That is one of the main factors of the current group art exhibition hosted by the Pelita Hati Gallery of Art. Held at its prestigious gallery in Jalan Bangsar, the show runs from the 15th of December to January 6th next year.

As the name implies, Pelita Hati brings some of the best and cutting-edge artists from Sabah and present their works to the art-lovers in Peninsular. Essentially, there would be works by 5 Sabah artists who are Arthur Stephen Siowou, Awang Fadilah bin Ali Hussein, Azlan Dulikab Jainal Amambing and Mr Comic himself or Rosmaini Sunarjo. Basically, the body of work that are being showcased are naive artworks where although they look simple and colourful, the main element that is being presented here is on the rich cultural heritage which is one of the pride and passion of the country. As with naive art, you can expect a totally different perspective of art when viewing the body of work while the innocence and charm that the artists portray can also be appreciated.

Opening hours: Mondays – Saturdays : 10.00am – 06.00pm.
