The Sutra Foundation is presenting works from 2 artists from India namely Gopal Krushna Rath and Guru Suraj. The exhibition will start from 15th February 2013 and will be held for a month until 15th March 2013 at the foundation’s Sutra Gallery.

The ‘Con-Figure’ exhibition will be featuring the paintings and artworks of these 2 young and very talented artists who will be giving Malaysian art-lovers a truly unique experience where you will surely get to appreciate first-hand the works of the 2 artists through their perspective and cultural confluences of their origins and the multi-cultural situation of Malaysia.

Gopal Krushna Rath, who is from Bhubaneswar was in Kuala Lumpur recently through an effort with a group Orissan artists from the Utkal University of Coulture. On the other hand, this would be the first outing overseas for Guru Suraj who graduated from the Government College of Arts of Chennai.

The works showcased in the ‘Con-figure’ show are mostly done in Kuala Lumpur where they exude the influence of the artists and their own unique interpretations of their own respective art-forms. Featuring 2 different methods and approaches, you will experience the shy and articulate strokes of Gopal as well as the interesting dwellings of Suraj and the trail of thought.
