The House of Matahati Art Trans (formerly known as HoM House of Matahati) will be hosting a two-artist show which will be featuring the latest works from emerging contemporary artists Sun Kang Jye and Chong Kim Chiew.
Both the artists have been associated with various programmes and activities carried out and organized by HoM in recent years where they will be presenting new and unique expressions on the theme of identity. The whole idea about this show is to express the subject matter without boundaries like a map, a memory and such.
Kim Chiew was born in Kuala Lumpur where he grew up and studied art at the Guongzhou Academy of Fine Art in China. He has been involved in 3 residency programmes organized by HoM through their SAGE Residency effort that involved artists from Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia. His most recent solo exhibition was in 2009 at the Magnitude show. He has been involved in several group shows including the Paints For Paintings2013 show earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Kang Jye was recognized for his works at the 2011 MEAA (Malaysian Emerging Artist Award). He graduated in 2000 with a Diploma in Fine Art where he has been involved with numerous shows ever since including the Philip Morris Malaysia- ASEAN Art Competition.
Opening Hours: Mondays to Fridays: 11.00am to 6.00pm, Saturdays: 1.00pm to 6.00pm
