The Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery is currently hosting a group exhibition at its Level 3s gallery. The show is entitled Fabrics of Society which as the name implies will be showcasing the different fabrics and textile of Malaysia. As our country is made up of people from different communities and backgrounds, it is natural that each community has their own weaving and textile art where this show will surely entice the common Malaysian to understand and learn more about our heritage and culture.
The Fabrics of Society is a unique show which will feature the importance of this traditional textile art which have an important place among Malaysians from all walks of life. There will be works by renowned Malaysian artists which include the likes of Khalil Ibrahim, Abdullah Ariff, Fatimah Chik, Mohd Hoessein Enas, Ismail Mat Hussin, Redza Piyadasa, Chuah Thean Teng, Yeong Seak Ling, Dzulkifli Buyong, Syed Thajudeen, Mastura Abdul Rahman and Chang Fee Ming, all of whom will have their own signature styles on show. Apart from this show, there are many other art and culture exhibitions held concurrently in level 2 at the Museum and Art Gallery our Numismatics Gallery and in level 1 where the Bank Negara Malaysia Gallery and the Islamic Finance Gallery are located.
