Group Exhibition – Green to Go – 11th April 2013 – 27th June 2013

The Shalini Ganendra Fine Art Gallery Residence will be hosting the Design Awards and Landscape Art show entitled ‘Green To Go’ between the 30th April to 3rd July 2013. The show will be featuring the works of the project which was organized by SGFA (Shalini Ganendra Fine Art) which was held in collaboration with certain children’s charity organizations in the Klang Valley.

This project was created where the work of art is designed using drought resistant and native plants to be grown at the Gallery Residence in Petaling Jaya for a year. After that, the artwork will be transferred to other community spaces. This project has served its purposes in offering a manufacturing and product design exercise for students from Taylors University while providing an initiative for underprivileged children as well as creating a project which is environmentally sustainable.

The project involved 100 to 150 potted plants which were designed using the Xeriscape principles. Some 160 students from Taylors University took part in the design competition for the ‘holders’ of the plants where 2 winners were selected. The exhibition will be showcasing the projects that were shortlisted as well as those that won the competition. This exhibition serves as a great platform to create more awareness among art lovers and Malaysians on ‘green’ practices through a creative approach.

Opening Hours: Tuesdays to Saturdays – 11.00am – 7.00pm
