The National Visual Arts Gallery (BSVN Balai Seni Visual Negara) is hosting a collection of artworks in an exhibition entitled Kasihnya Ibu. The title means A Mothers Love which will is being held in conjunction with Mothers Day which falls in May. There will be a selection of works in different mediums that has been collected since the 1950s while there will be works of photographs submitted by women contestants in the photography competition.
The exhibition will be held at the Balai Seni Lukis Sabah and is curated by Tan Hui Koon. This project involves works by some of Malaysias most established artists like Datuk Chuah Thean Teng, A.B Ibrahim, Mohd Hoessein Enas, Dzulkifli Buyong, Sylvia Lee Goh, Nirmala Dutt Shanmughalingam and many others.
With such an impressive lineup of artists and works on display, it would surely be a great show that depicts what and how strong a mothers love can be. To further illustrate this noble and sacred love, there will be literary works in which there will be selected poems by Datuk A Samad Said, Datuk Usman Awang, Masuri S N and many others while there will be other complementing activities like workshops and such that will promote better family ties and appreciation for the mother on this occasion.
