As the name suggests, this would be an exhibition about paper and art. Located at the highly unique and one-of-its-kind Art Row in Publika, the Galaeri Rumah Terang is inviting people to look into the works of some Malaysian artists who are exhibiting their art through the use of paper.
The pop-up exhibition will be involving 15 Malaysian artists that include Andrew T Crum, Donald Ibrahim, Chekri Mansor, Escape, Fuad Shahminan, Jojo Yusof, Latif Maulan, Maman, Niskala, Orkibal, Raja Ajim Azeem, Satria Utama, Samsiah Jendol, Shieko, Snozze and the highly popular Adeputra Masri.
This exhibition is the works of curators Ajim and Satria where there are quite some very unique expressions from the artists through their interpretations using paper that will encompass the likes of sculptures, installations, photography as well as sketches.
According to Satria, the reason why paper is used as the central idea behind the show as because it is always the start of every artistic process. Whether it is visual or literary work, they are first jot down on a paper so that the thought can be preserved before the artist expands it into something bigger. There will be personal sketchbooks that will be on show as well to provide the viewer with the trail of thought of the artist.
