The Hindu community around the world will be observing and celebrating the Festival of Lights or Deepavali on the 13th of November 2012. To commemorate this auspicious celebration as well as to be part of the festival, the Galeri Petronas is hosting an exhibition entitled Be the Light Deepavali Exhibition A Celebration of Culture and Tradition.
As the name implies, Be the Light will be showcasing some of the snapshots of the traditional Indian heritage in Malaysia which is part of the campaign launched by Petronas in celebrating Deepavali with Malaysians from all walks of life. The campaign also included the Do the Dappan video that went viral on YouTube but was removed later.
Take a while to immerse into the colourful celebration of Deepavali and the importance of harmony that it exudes at the Be the Light show while this purposely curated show will be demonstrating the very nature of Malaysias multi-cultural and peaceful environment. As mentioned, the Be the Light exhibition is part of a larger campaign where it is designed and championed by the Group Corporate Affairs Division of Petronas to promote and spread the message across art lovers and enthusiasts around the country about peace, harmony, vibrancy and joy.
