As the name implies, the Locals Only! group exhibition will be featuring the works of Malaysian artists only. Set to run between 24th January and 20th February next year, this is one of the most anticipated shows organized by one of the most established art galleries in Malaysia today, Taksu Kuala Lumpur. The annual group exhibition has become quite the signature for the art space that has propelled many local up and coming Malaysian artists into the limelight and bridging them closer to the art-loving community.
For this year, Taksu has picked some of the best works of the emerging and some established Malaysian artists and this would surely be an exciting event which will be held as the year starts. The names that are involved in 2013s Locals Only! are Hafidz Shabri, Najib Bamadhaj, Yeoh Choo Kuan, Khairul Izham, Seah Ze Lin, Fawwaz Sukri, Hisyamuddin Abdullah and Mohd Akhir. One very interesting factor about the Locals Only! show is that it not only exhibits some very exciting and remarkable artworks but it is also a platform for the viewers to learn more about the Malaysian artists and where they are at the moment. On the other hand, the new artists are also able to showcase their works in one of the most prominent spaces in the Malaysian art world today.
