Love has always been a central theme of the subject matters when it comes to art and this is where many artists tend to give a somewhat unique interpretation of the greatest feeling on earth. Wei-Ling Contemporary meanwhile is attempting to address this issue head-on with their latest group exhibition simply entitled Measuring Love.
The group show is obviously, as the name implies circles around Love and it is based on the symbol 9 which have been associated with Love. Hence, as symbolic as it seems, there will be 9 emerging artists who will be involved in this show which include the likes of Justin Lim, Anisa Abdullah, Chen Yen Pheng, Ruzzeki Harris and Sean Lean, who recently had a solo show at this gallery.
The artists were asked to give their own interpretation of Love which could be very broad and this made the production of art work all the more challenging. It is in their own manifestation of the subject matter that makes this show very interesting as each artist is known for their own set of skills and techniques. It must be noted that love is not limited to the romantic and transcends all gender, race and background and that is what will be shown in this exhibition.
