As the name implies, MidTerm is very much something happening around the middle. Held at the Shalini Ganendra Fine Art @ Gallery Residence (SGFA), it is as true as it comes as the title refers to the works of 5 Malaysian artists who have made names for themselves in their own respective styles and art-forms. MidTerm offers a very exciting showcase where it involves a whole range of media that include installations, painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. This is where the works of Bibi Chew, Eiffel Chong, Jasmine Kok, Kim Peow Ng and Suhaimi Fadzir are displayed to show their expertise in their own creative areas.
The show took 12 months to plan and implement and is co-curated by Ganendra herself with Ai-Woei Lim from the National Visual Arts Gallery. While the show refers to the artists in their mid-career, the works are anything but. They have put forth some very fresh interpretations through their years of experience and exposure in the local and international art scenes where they have won awards and recognition for their contributions and unique expressions of art. The sculptures of Suhaimi Fadzir, the experimental prints of Kim Ng, the installations of Bibi Chew, Jasmine Koks carvings and the photography works of Eiffel Chong makes MidTerm one of the most exciting shows to kick start the year.
Opening Hours : Tuesdays to Saturdays 11.00am 7.00pm
