The recently opened Segaris Art Center is currently hosting a group exhibition entitled MukaKata which will be running until the 24th May 2013. There will be works from some of the most renowned contemporary artists of Malaysia which will be featuring some very interesting and unique portraiture from these renowned artists.
Among those whose works will be exhibited in MukaKata include Anurendra Jegadeva, Dato Azman Yusof, Chong Siew Ying, Gan Chin Lee, Jalaini Abu Hassan, Kow Leong Kiang, Ramlan Abdullah, Sharmiza Abu Hassan, Yusof Majid and the very illustrious Ahmad Zakii Anwar.
This show was created and intended to allow the artists who come from different backgrounds with their own signature styles to develop portraiture in the local art scene. The show works as the dialogue between the artists and the disciplines involved. Therefore, the works are all open for discussion, appreciation and critics from the viewers, drawing them into the worlds seen through the lenses of the artists themselves.
With such an impressive lineup, expect a visual feast which will surely exude the very nature and trademark of Malaysian art in MukaKata and their reflections, expressions and styles of contemporary Portraiture which are different from the traditional single-facet paintings.
