The Galeri Seni Mutiara in Penang is currently hosting an art exhibition involving artists from 2 countries, Malaysia and The Philippines. The exhibition is appropriately named Philippines-Malaysia July Exhibition) and that is what the audience will surely enjoy when visiting the show.
Held for the entire month of July, there will be 35 pieces of artworks that will be on show that are produced by 18 remarkable artists. The visiting artists are Leonardo Aquinaldo, Norman Dreo, Salvador Buds Convocar, Roen Capule, Noel Pama and Salvadro Buddy Ching while the Malaysian (home) contingent is made up of Cheng Kiet Cheng, Chow Chin Chuan, Hiew Wei Yong, Hoo Kiew Hang, Jack Ting, Lee Cheng Hong, Long Thien Shih, Ng Bee, Ng Kim Heoh, Tan Keng Leong and Tang Yeok Khang.
As expected, there will be a very healthy and exciting combination of 2 distinctive styles of art between the artists of both the countries who have collectively produced some very cutting-edge and thought-invoking body of work that covers the likes of mixed media, acrylic, watercolor, paint on wood, oil and many other very creative mediums. It is an interesting show as there is no central theme and is very much up to the artists own interpretations and expressions of their subject matter.
