Galeri Chandan is currently hosting a group exhibition entitled Platform: Young Artists Exhibition which will be showcasing 23 young and upcoming artists. This will be an interesting show which will be featuring some very remarkable works of the artists who are looking to chart a name for themselves in the highly competitive and dynamic Malaysian art scene. Hence, one can expect a wide variety of artworks made in various media forms which will include paintings, print works, as well as the more 3-dimensional forms like ceramics and sculptures made from wood and metal.
As the name of the show implies, it will be the platform which will propel the young artists to a higher level where they will be using this opportunity to show not only what they are capable of but what they can offer. It might just be possible that the next Dato Chuah Thean Teng or Khalil Ibrahim is among those who are involved in this show which makes it all the more exciting. Its nice to have a new and fresher take on issues of everyday life from a younger group of artists and that can be seen here. Among those who has contributed to this show include Ainurfatin Majid, Azzuan Osman, Fateen Ilani Kamaruddin, Juliady Rifandy, Mohd Aliff Ahmad, Nizar Sulaiman, Nor Hidayaah Shahrun and Raja Azeem Idzham, among many others.
