Galeri Chandan is currently holding a group exhibition which involved 5 of todays most exciting Malaysian artists. The exhibition is entitled Rezeki which will feature the works of Aznan Omar, Elias Yamani Ismail, Nuriman Amri, Raduan Man and Yusri Sulaiman which will be running until the 10th of December 2012. The works are already on display while the opening of the show will be held on Friday the 23rd of November 2012 at the gallery in Publika, Kuala Lumpur.
The title means sustenance and is one of the many Malay words adapted from the Arabic language. It comes from the word rizq where works of the artists will be encircling around this theme. Hence it will be a great combination of different expressions and interpretations of the word which are often associated with the likes of wealth, profit, dividends, rewards and such. There will be sculpture works in aluminium and other materials by Aznan Omar on show while Raduans woodprints are also among the highlights of the exhibition. Other works to take note of at the Rezeki show include the oil paintings of Yusri Sulaiman as well as the installation by Nuriman Asri and Elias Yamanis 3-dimensaional artworks using pigment on steel.
