The widely popular SAGE Residency show by House of Matahati (HoM) is back for the third installment. The main goal of this residency program was to cultivate the exchange of art between artists in Southeast Asia.
SAGER which is short for SAGE Residency is a residency program which is organized together by HoM and SAGEJOGJA of Indonesia and the Philippines Project Space Pilipinas. Basically, artist who have at least 5 years or more experience in their respective art scenes will be eligible to join the program.
For the third edition, the program involves Didik Wahyu Setiawan and Wisnuaji Putu from Indonesia, Guenivere Toledanes Decena and Mervin Fabro Pimentel of the Philippines and from our own home, Seah Zelin and Yeoh Choo Kuan. All the six artists will be in Kuala Lumpur where their works are put on show in this exhibition. It will be an interesting show that will feature the works of our own artists as well as the knowledge their counterparts have gained having stayed here in the community for a month or so.
This unique series will then see the artists move to Jogjakarta where they will spend a month there, learning and exchanging knowledge and culture in July. An exhibition will be held after the residency there before the entourage move to Manila in November, thereby concluding the year-long program.
Opening hours: Mondays Fridays: 11.00am 6.00 pm. Saturdays: 1.00pm 6.00pm
