The Parallel Contemporary Art and Prudential are co-organizing a group art exhibition entitled Prudential Malaysian Eye. The show features a group of more than 20 renowned and emerging artists as well as a seminal art reference book which will be showcasing the works of Malaysian art.
The show is held at mapKL Publika where selected artists will have their work shown at the Saatchi Gallery in London at the START show sometime in June this year.
This show is part of the non-profit Global Eye Programme which has since organized more than 17 exhibitions around the world.
The show is curated by Global Eye Programme co-founder Serenella Ciclitira, Nigel Hurst the CEO of Saatchi Gallery CEO and Chang Tsong-Zung, the director of Hanart TZ Gallery.
Meanwhile, the book Malaysian Eye: Contemporary Malaysian Art will be launched at the event which will feature works from Malaysian artists as well as essays contributed by the likes of Nazli Aziz who is the founder and managing director of Galeri Chandan, Nani Kahar, the project partner of Publika and labDNA, Nur Hanim, the curator of the Perak Arts Foundation and Zainol Abidin Ahmad Shariff, a renowned artist and art historian while there will be some other related events and shows as well.
