Following the success of the recent art auction with all art works sold out, Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers are bringing in another similar event. This time it will focus more on the works of the young and emerging artists with works going to the highest bidder at the upcoming The Young Contempo Auction.
There will be 35 artworks to bid for ranging through a wide variety of medium used by some of the up-and-coming artists as well as some established ones. This will be the first time Henry Butcher is running this event and it might just follow the footsteps of the Art Auction success judging from the names that have been linked with the event.
This will be the ideal platform for the young and contemporary Malaysian artists to springboard their career to a higher level. Known in short as TYCA, it would feature works of artists in areas like oil painting, mixed media, acrylic and many others, all of which are known for their unique traits and signatures. The show will be targeting to create more awareness of Malaysian art to the general public and to create a conducive and vibrant environment that will benefit the artists, collectors and art lovers alike.
Compred to the Henry Butcher Art Auction 2012, artworks in this show would surely be more affordable with prices to start at RM1,600 like Siund Tans Imaginary Friend, RM1,800 for Louise Lows Mystical Serenity while Mohd Razif Zakarias painting will start the bids from RM3,000. Paintings in the higher ranges would be likes of Back to the Good Memories by Wong Chee Meng which will expect to fetch between RM12,000 to RM15,000 while the work of Saiful Razman entitled Terbilang will start from RM7,000. Other works that will be auctioned at the show include Donald Abrahams Antu, Gan Chin Lees Status Anxiety VI and Ali Azraei Bebits Playing Series Part 1 sculpture.
