The Valentine Willie Fine Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur will be hosting the latest solo show from Jalaini Abu Hassan, one of the most renowned contemporary artists in Malaysia today. The show is entitled Bingkai Berangkai which means linked frames in Bahasa Malaysia.
Jalaini or known fondly as Jai will be showcasing his latest works in the exhibition which will run until 3rd November. It will go along Jais concept of a being a process artist where he is immersed in not only the physical acts of making art but in the process concept that involves a wider intellectual consideration of how anyone would understand them. This offers a different perspective into the more common way of viewing art where Jai provides an alternate and more unconventional style of his works which although bear his signature and trademark provides some very compelling and truly immersing subject matter for the viewer to appreciate.
For his latest exhibition, he focuses on the concept of frame which essentially is the border that an image is contained in. It provokes interpretation from the viewer to see his work through a self-reflexive way and to co-relate his series of works through the blurring of the frames boundaries thereby allowing a more continuous and integrated flow.
