Little is known of Amir Arshad but this artist has been working in the art scene for many year now. That is where his latest works will be showcased at the Balai Berita NST Gallery entitled Metafora which will demonstrate his exemplary techniques that have created such compelling artwork in recent years.
There will be 34 of his artworks that will be shown in the Metafora show and this would essentially be his second solo show. Amir said that Metafora showcases 2 distinct styles of his body of work which include his painting of natures subject matter on canvas as well as his more traditional approach of the batik art style.
Amir, who comes from Perak said that art has been something which his family has been passionate about and he gained much interest from his grandfather Yuop Abu Kasim who was very skilful in carving wood. Together with his siblings, he has nurtured his interest in art and today, his works focuses on fishes and other nature related subject matter. His work with Batik motifs have gained him much recognition where they have been seen at international events like LIMA 2000, the Asean Tourism Fair in Nagoya, the 19th Korea Travel Fair in Seoul and the 5th China-Asean Forum, among others.
