NN Gallery will be holding the latest series of works by renowned artist Fong Kim Sing entitled Perjalanan Seorang Seniman. It means An Artists Journey and will feature 34 works of the artist on his depiction and expression of his intended subject matter. Essentially, this is an exhibition which will showcase the intricate body of work that Fong has been associated in the past and you will be able to appreciate his meticulous works of nature, flora, fauna and natural landscapes.
Fong is a Kedah born artist who is known for his self-taught techniques in which he cultivated throughout the years from books and learning from the likes of other artists. He grew up as a son of padi farmer which gained him much experience among nature and its characteristics and that can be seen in his works which are usually associated with elements of flora and fauna.
Fongs work are highly inspired by his natural surroundings and those that are personal to him where he is known to trek deep into the jungles to gain insights while he also basked in the beautiful sceneries of the morning sun by the seaside in which he paints the landscapes of fishing villages, birds and such.
This is the show that will exhibit some of Fongs most compelling works to date which will include his expressions in various media which he is known to be familiar in the past. Born in 1949, Fong is an award winner for his works while he has also held several solo exhibitions at NN Gallery a few times. Apart from that, his works have also been involved in group shows like the Malaysian Water Color Biennal Exhibition, the Asian Watercolour Exhibition in Hong Kong as well as at the Darul Aman Art Group at Penangs The Art Gallery.
