The Print Room Kuala Lumpur will be hosting a 2-month photography show entitled Its Still Life at its art space starting from the 26th of October 2013. The gallery has been very active in featuring works on photography and other visual art forms since it was opened recently and this will be its eighth show.
For Its Still Life, The Print Room will be deviating from its previous approach which was more documentary in nature and feature the more technically-demanding techniques of still-life art. It is an interesting mix of new and old in which the photographers are exposed to this genre known to be older than photography in many ways.
This would be a first opportunity for most of the photographers of the show where they are to indulge into this art-form that takes a lot of effort and patience. After all, what is art without patience? It goes with the philosophy that still-life is more of art that must be made instead of taken by cameras which means that they will have to somewhat stage their artwork before snapping them. The show took several months to complete where the artists when out on their own journey to set forth their image in order to tell their stories.
Opening hours: Weekends 2.00pm to 7.00pm.
