When it comes to iconic women, Malaysia has its own leader who can stand tall in the global arena and that is what is being captured by Wing Shya, a renowned Hong Kong photographer and Sean K, an international stylist who took the portraits of 8 of Malaysias most iconic and renowned women leaders.
The show is entitled Malaysias League of Extraordinary Women which is what the name implies. The respected women involved in this show are none other than international actress Tengku Puan Pahang Tunku Azizah Sultan Iskandar, Datuk Paduka Marina Mahathir, Tan Sri Dr Jemilah Mahmood, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, Datuk Sheila Majid, Datuk Tom Abang Saufi, Datuk Nicol David and Ling Tan, who have all made their names in the world for their respective efforts and disciplines.
Held at the Starhill Gallery, Yeoh said that she felt honored to be selected among the 8 women selected for this show where they were chosen based on the passion they demonstrated in their own ways and influences. Yeoh was accorded with the title The Silver Screen Goddess where she said was a great idea in honoring women in Malaysia and that she wished the list was longer and more women would be recognized. The show is held in conjunction with the opening of the Louis Vuitton Global Store in Kuala Lumpur.
