The Interpr8 Art Space in Publika will be hosting a photography show entitled Storm Clouds Wayang Kulit in Photography which will be intertwining 2 very distinct and rich artforms. This exhibition is a special fundraising show which is jointly organized by Interpr8 and PUSAKA.
Pusaka is the brainchild of writer Eddin Khoo who is also the founder and director of this non-governmental organsation which aims to support traditional Malaysian culture like the Mak Yong, Kuda Kepang and the prominent Wayang Kulit, among others. Through its efforts Pusaka strives to create more awareness and appreciation for these art forms in the local and global scenarios.
Eddin will be showcasing 15 of his Wayang Kulit photographs which are for sale. Proceeds of this fundraising event will be channeled to help PUSAKA maintain its efforts in helping to preserve and strengthen the Malaysian culture in performing arts.
There will be a special performance on the day of the opening which will be graced by Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, the former Law Minister and past chairman of PUSAKA. Throughout the course of the exhibition, there will be related events of the Kelantanese Wayang Kulit tradition and culture with renowned Malaysian contemporary artist Anurendra Jegadeva giving a talk as well.
