Raja Ahmad Aminullah, the Director of R A Fine Arts and a reputable artists himself will be presenting a lecture at the National Visual Arts Gallery entitled Seni dan Tantangan Zaman. This is translated to Art and the Challenges of Time which will surely provide great insights into the current art collection and recognition scenario.
Questions and issues about the current situation of the art world will be addressed and perhaps answered by Raja Ahmad who was a former participant at The World Campus Afloat Programme in the United States where he underwent a workshop on creative writing and went on to chart a career with the New Straits Times. In 1996, Raja Ahmad, together with a group of art-loving individuals established the Yayasan Kesenian Perak.
The event is part of the Ismail Zain lecture series which will be addressing issues like the importance of art in the society and nation as well as its relevance throughout the various eras and time. Apart from that, it will also be deliberating on the area of art collection. The lecture might not be able to answer all the questions that might arise in these areas but it will surely provide the much needed insights into these scenarios and to help the art enthusiast to understand better the whole art scene of Malaysia and its surrounding regions.
