The recently formed My Performing Arts Agency (MPAA) will be holding the Royal Arts Gala on the 12th of November 2012 at Kuala Lumpurs Hilton Hotel. This would be the major event organised by the MPAA in collaboration with the National Department for Culture & Arts and supported by the Ministry of Information Communication and Culture as well as PEMANDU, the Prime Ministers Departments Performance Management Delivery Unit.
This iconic event will be the highlight of the Malaysian arts calendar which will involve an impressive list of practitioners in the country. There will be several shows on the night of the dinner themed Journey Through the Arts which will be directed by Pat Ibrahim and hosted by Malaysian funny man Harith Iskander. Other performing artists who are scheduled to take their turns on stage include Dato M Nasir, Tony Eusoff, Kamarul Baisah and others. This would be an annual affair where this years edition will be graced by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tuanku Hajah Haminah. Apart from performances, there will also be a silent auction for a LEICA X2 Camera, a gown designed by Innai red and an art piece made by Infantino Fernandes where proceeds will be channelled to the Cultural Trust Fund.
