The Shalini Ganendra Fine Art will be hosting the latest works by Sir Roy Calne which will be running from 4th April to the 8th of July this year.
This would be his fifth solo exhibition form Sir Roy who has been associated with the gallery since 1998. Back then, Sir Roys work were still very new where today, he is known in the international and regional art scenes through his very unique collection of artworks.
Apart from the exhibition of artwork, there will be another satellite exhibition which will be held at the Prince Court Medical Centre as well as a lecture. Sales of the artworks will be channeled for charity to the Malaysian Transplant Society.
There will be quite a collection of very interesting artworks from Sir Roy who will be showing his techniques in both 2 and 3-dimensional forms. Paintings and drawings will be featured while there will be sculptures as well.
It would be his unusual and simple take on objects and still life that he creates his signature. A simple picture of a flower vase can be interpreted in so many ways through Sir Roys own trademark style that they invoke not only thoughts but a sense of association and belonging in the viewer as well.
