Wei-Ling Contemporary will be hosting the solo exhibition by Toon Hian between 21st June and 30th July 2013. This widely anticipated show follows the last solo show from the artist in 2011. That was his first solo effort which was entitled Bewildered and this time, it is almost like a second chapter where he calls it Bewildered, Once More.
If you have been mesmerized by his first outing that depicted the likes of fantasy and celestial beings, then you will surely enjoy this one as it is a continuation of what came before.
His strokes are marvelously carried out while his brushstrokes are simply a sight to behold. It is as if you are looking at the paintings from his eyes where there will be works that stemmed from his memories during his days in the northern state of Perak and some prominent events of the last few decades.
Toon Hian is a businessman who uses art as his escapism from reality and this show will feature some large format ink on paper works, which is the main difference from the last show. Little is known that he has been practicing his works for more than 30 years now where viewers will surely be thrilled by what the show can offer.
