The recently opened Artemis Art in Publika will be hosting the solo exhibition by Indonesian contemporary artist Riduan. This would be the first solo exhibition organized by the gallery and will be showcasing the works of Riduan who comes is from Palembang.
He is currently based in Yogyakarta and Binding and Separating will be featuring his unique methods of expression through his signature body of work that encapsulated the use of textures and elaborations.
It is in Riduans manipulation of texture techniques that creates something out of nothing from a flat surface. Riduan has been associated with Artemis Art since mid last year where his Invasion work was seen at the 2012 Art Expo Malaysia.
This would be Riduans second solo exhibition and his first major show outside of his home country. Prior to this show, Riduan is one of the emerging Indonesian artist who has been producing art since 1997. Apart from Malaysia, some of his works were seen in the United States while he was mostly involved with shows and exhibitions in Yogyakarta. The opening will be graced and officiated by the guest of honor, Ambassador Dato N. Parameswaran who is a renowned and distinguished collector in the Malaysian art scene.
