The a2 Gallery in Penang will be hosting a solo exhibition entitled Characters by international artists Nalidsa Sukprasert.
As the name implies, there will be works form this Thai artist which will exude a wide variety of portraits and paintings of expressions. This is a show that will demonstrate the character of the people she met seen through an artist with a very unique body of work in the art scene.
Nalidsa will be showcasing the record of people that she met in her recent travels that took place between 2011 and 2013. Throughout her journeys, she has been to countries like Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and as far as to Canada while drawing inspiration from her own country, Thailand.
The Characters exhibition will feature her fascination with the different types of cultures that she came across during her travels which she then puts them into her artwork. The artist believes that every person is unique and special where she met those who allowed her to sit and sketch a picture of them.
Through these efforts she was able to capture the soul and spirit of the people of the particular country thereby giving them her own interpretation of what she experienced.
