The Galeri Seni Mutiara in Penang will be hosting the solo exhibition of Christopher Dally from the 9th until the 30th of June. This is not the first time that Galeri Seni Mutiara is showcasing the works of this artist. An ex merchant navy who has traveled to many parts of the world, Christopher spent 24 years in Indonesia which is why he is very well versed with Asian culture, which are seen through his body of work.
The English artist is staying in Penang under the Malaysia My Second Home scheme where he has since called his home. He paints some very interesting expressions of the local culture in this exhibition entitled Colours of Tranquility where he has previously been involved in designing of stage sets for theatrical productions.
His first solo exhibition was at Galeri Seni Mutiara in 2010 with the support of Mr Koay Soo Kau who is instrumental in Christophers second show as well. This artist bring with him many years of experience and in his own statement, he has survived cancer, two strokes and dengue fever. After all, he is almost 80 years old which goes to show that art transcends any barrier like age, background and culture.
