Solo Exhibition – Coreng – 28th March 2013 – 18th April 2013

Taksu will be hosting the solo exhibition by Malaysian contemporary artist Fauzul Yusri entitled ‘Corent’ at its Kuala Lumpur gallery. The title is the Bahasa Malaysia word for ‘mottle’ which basically involves smearing of colours as well as the technique of marking with sport that will enthralled the viewer with this artist’s body of work.

Using his own unique method to produce this art series, Coteng took Fauzulyusri a year to complete. The graduate of UiTM (Universiti Teknologi Mara) from Shah Alam has been actively involved with the art scene for the more than 10 years now. To date, he has hosted many group exhibitions and 6 solo shows including his recent ‘Warna’ (Colour) series in Hong Kong, together with 5 Malaysian expressionist artists.

For Coteng, one would find some very interesting expressions from Fauzul who paints and project his take on the issues of daily life where nothing is as they seemed. He engraves his messages deep within his artwork that will require the viewer to take some time before fully understanding what he is trying to say. The strokes and brush styles of Fauzul is very different where one can bask in his naive art elements and graffiti-like mementos which deviates from may contemporary art of today.

Opening  Hours: Mondays – Saturdays: 10.00am – 7.00pm
