The a2 Gallery in Penang will be hosting the solo exhibition this coming 21st June to the 4th of July 2013. The show is entitled Desk Project which will be featuring the works of Indonesian artist Franky Pandana.
The artist comes from Medan where he is one of the remarkable contemporary artists represented by a2 Gallery. The Desk Project will be an exciting exhibition which will showcase his talents and unique art works which will involve using postcard size paintings.
This will be Frankys second art exhibition following the success of his first solo with a2 Gallery Sensibility. Basically, the Desk Project offers an interesting outlook into Frankys artistic techniques where they are not painting with any particular purpose or theme. However, amidst all the so-called mess one can see his thoughts through this unique method of expression.
One can see it as miniature paintings of some sort and that it might limit the artist in terms of size but it is through this medium that Franky is able to express better. After all, he has the freedom to use any materials available to him where there will be the likes of stickers, markers, collage images and just about any other elements he can conjure up with. In total, they provide a diary-like of expression where there are more than 600 post card size artworks on show.
Opening hours: Daily 10.00am to 6.00pm
