The WAF Fine Art Gallery in Straits Quay, Penang is currently holding the solo photography exhibition by Jeremy Tan. It is entitled Luminescence where the show will run until the 24th of November 2012 in which Tan puts on a series of photographs that capture the essence of lights and colours around Penang in his own unique way.
Luminescence, as the word implies will offer a whole new perspective of what is seen through Tans lenses who is one of the most established photographers in Malaysia today. The photojournalists works have been used in publications like Going Places, the in-flight magazine for Malaysian Airlines as well as in The Star and he is one who had travelled to many parts of the world to capture the moments through his artistic expression.
Tan is known as a person who goes to great lengths in order to get the shots he wants and this will be a great avenue to showcase his works. The Luminescence show will involve 42 of his photographs which essentially will be his first solo exhibition. A lot of the works that are being showcased are those that Tan took at the blue hour which is the 10-minute window before the sun sets every day and that is when the view comes alive with lights, according to the photographer.
