Valentine Willie Fine Art is currently hosting the solo exhibition of Liew Kwai Fei entitled Painted Words and Written Paintings: For the Refined and For the Masses which is scheduled to run from the 7th of November to the 28th November 2012. This show will be featuring some of Liews latest works which are also known to be controversial which will be different from his more crowd-pleasing Abstraction series shown 2 years ago. As always expected from Liew, there will surely be an array of paintings which would invoke the thoughts of the viewer and perhaps form some sort of association.
Apart from the exhibition of his work, there will also be a talk to be held on the 17th November 2012 at 4.00pm which will be moderated by Yap Sau Bin at this renowned art space. Liews works have often been seen as personal and intimate to some point where he does not hold anything back in his expressing of messages through his figurative and contextual paintings. He paints his works based on his own memory and imagination and often exudes his passion for Chinese classical poetry in many ways while he also uses the slangs and common phrases of the local conversation in the completion of his paintings.
Opening Hours: Mondays to Fridays: 11.00 am to 7.00 pm, Saturdays: 12.00 to 6.00 pm. Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
