The City Art Gallery is currently hosting the solo exhibition entitled The Magic of the Colours. It will feature the work of Cuban artist Lula Azorey who is known for her work in both 3-dimension and 2-dimension mediums. As the name implies, there will be some very compelling and colourful artwork from Lula who usually do not follow the logical process criteria of art in general but using her own signature style in her minimalistic approach.
The artist obtained her education at the Plastic Arts School Raul Gomez Garcia in her home country where she got to know renowned artists like Pepe Franco and Zaida del Rio before joining Study Interior Designs for 3 years. Her works were seen in many spaces across Latin America where she performed her plastic art skills. It was in 2009 when she began working with glass and mosaic techniques on sculptures and moved north to the United States.
She currently lives and work in Kuala Lumpur Lumpur and this would be an interesting exhibition that will showcase her expressions to the Malaysian public. Intertwining her childhood in Latin America and her current environment in Asia, it would showcase her non-reference to recognizable form in art to meanings that are to be interpreted by the viewer.
Opening Hours: Daily 11.00am to 6.00pm
