The Shalini Ganendra Fine Art is currently hosting the solo exhibition by Matt Golden entitled Vernacular to Contemporary. The United Kingdom-based artist is no stranger to the art scene around today where he won the highly prestigious Arts Foundation Yoma Sasburg Award for Sculpture in 2011 as well as the Vordemberge-Gildewart Foundation scholarship 5 years before that.
He has been involved in several residency programmes including in 2011 at the Koyto University in Japan, Insel Hombroich in Germany in 2007 and most recently at the Vision Culture Residency last year at SGFA. This was part of him charting out his career as one of the most remarkable artists of today since finishing his Master of Art in Sculpture from another highly prestigious institution, the Royal College of Art in London.
Since then, he has been actively involved in the art scene where he has had several international and very successful solo shows like the Two Drops a Cloud Makes at the Campbell Works in London in 2007, the Somehow, Someday, Somewhere at Bischoff/Weiss a year later and in 2011, at the Art House Foundation in London where he held the Sensitivity to the Impermanence of Being show while his latest works through the residency programme will be showcased in this show.
Opening Hours: Tuesdays Saturdays: 11.00am 7.00pm
