The Artemis Art gallery will be hosting the solo exhibition of Malaysian artist Shyevin Sng from the 24th August 2013. This would be the first solo exhibition here from the artist who is currently working in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where she is based.
Coming from the northern coast of Perak in Kuala Kurau, Shyevin has since moved to Ho Chi Minh City 7 years ago where since being immersed in its culture is highly fascinated by their way of life. Enjoying and basking in the rich tapestry of landscapes and background, Vietnam is now home to the artist.
Inspired by the places that she visits, her body of work encircles around the theme of exploration. After all, Shyevin is an avid traveler where she captures the essence of each place and paints the beauty the way she sees them. She recently participated in the Emergence group exhibition organized by Artemis Art last year and this will be a sort of homecoming show for the artist. The Painters Journey follows her previous show in Vietnam at the Fine Art Museum in 2012 while she has been involved in several group shows mainly around Vietnam and more recently in Malaysia.
