Wei-Ling Contemporary will be hosting the solo show entitled The Big Picture. This show will be featuring the works of one of the most prominent figurative artists from Australia Stewart MacFarlane where it will be his third show with Wei-Ling.
The new works are pop art in many ways where he had always been working around figurative and landscape paintings. In his new series, he will be revisiting these subject matters where they are larger and more distinct in his own signature ways.
MacFarlane is a distinguished artist who has more than 50 solo shows countries like the United States, Germany, Australia and around Asia. Today, his works are seen in many permanent collections in some very remarkable galleries and institutions that include the Australian National Gallery in Canberra, Curtin University Gallery in Perth and the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art in Roswell, New Mexico.
For this event, MacFarlane will be showcasing his own unique art form of using bright and sharp colors while his exemplary shadow and lighting play is original in his own ways. This is probably one of the main traits of the artist which saw him being so recognized with so many awards and residencies around the world.
