Wei-Ling Contemporary is currently hosting the solo exhibition of renowned Malaysian artist Ivan Lam entitled Day Zero Night Hero. Ivans work has often been known to invoke thoughts where he draws you into his world of provocative and often personal emotions.
This show is no different as Ivans works are made using his own unique style and methods, exploring into his own way of combining the mediums of his choice. Started out in the printmaking methods, Ivan has since added new methods and styles and given the Malaysian contemporary art a whole new meaning.
Since then, he has exhibited in the local and international art scene including the prestigious Art Basel earlier this year. His works are now much larger where there are 3 pieces of work made specifically for this show. This follows the recent trend that he incorporated where there were only 12 paintings in his After All These Years show, 9 large painting in the Panorama show and his Together Alone where there were only 5 paintings. In 2012, the Machines 2012 show only had 3 paintings which were deemed the trilogy. This trilogy will push the bar even higher from the artists known to advocate new ways and blend uncharted waters into todays contemporary art scene.
Opening Hours: Daily: 10.00am to 9.00am
