RA Fine Arts is currently hosting the solo art exhibition by Malaysian contemporary artist Mohd Akhir Ahmad. The artist is a former UiTM (Universiti Teknologi Mara) student of the arts where there will be a host of oil paintings being exhibited.
The show is entitled Freezing the Moment and as so many artists who came out from the renowned art school, Akhir is showcasing that he is equally as good and exciting to be part of this highly illustrious art scene.
It is hard not to notice the detail and effort that Akhir has put into this show and the Penangite is doing what he does best. He captures some of the many moments in life which many might not notice and that is where he draws his inspiration from The Necklace by 19th century French writer Guy de Maupassant.
In a more contemporary and local setting, one might just associate his still life paintings that exude realism so well that it resembles some of the works of Ahmad Zakii Anwar although they have their own distinctive styles and methods. As the title suggests, there is a missing earring in most of his works which very much tells how much he epitomizes the importance of details.
Opening Hours: Tuesdays to Saturdays 11.00am to 7.00pm , Sundays 12.00pm 5.00pm
