The National Visual Arts Gallery is currently hosting a solo exhibition by Ken Yang. The show is entitled Ken Yang Paris Kuala Lumpur where it will be showcasing the works from this renowned artist that was produced in the last 10 years.
As the name implies, the artworks are derived through his travels in Europe where there will be some very interesting techniques that he cultivated in recent years. This show is actually a combination of 2 body of work from Ken where there are some paintings from his shows in Paris and those that are specifically made for this show.
In Paris Kuala Lumpur, Ken is depicting the first series called European Inspiration and another called Figures from Malaysia. The former is taken from his solo shows in Paris held in 2006, 2009 and 2011 while the second part is the Figures from Malaysia which are worked that was made for this show after an invitation from the Ministry of Culture.
Ken is the youngest artist to have a solo exhibition at NVAG where his Figurative and Portraiture artworks surely transcend beyond his age where they display maturity, impeccable technique and perfection in his own ways which surpasses so many other artists who came before him.
