The 69 Fine Art Gallery will be presenting a solo art exhibition which will be featuring the works of Malaysian artists Lim Kim Hai. This show is curated by Betty Bui in which there will be a collection of works from Kim Hai who is one of the earlier generations of Malaysian artists.
The show is entitled Optical Optimism and will be showcasing his latest works which he started since 2008. This show will be putting forth his paintings which are mostly large sized ones as well as a few smaller ones.
The artist was trained in the arts at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore where he is known to be among those who have been able to intertwine east and west art so successfully. After that he went on to study modern and contemporary painting at the highly prestigious l’Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Art in France.
Kim Hai is an established artist both within and outside Malaysia where he has won several awards in France which include the Golden award from Salon des Artistes Francais in 1982, the Award of Prix Henri Lehamann (peinture) from Institut de France académie des Beaux- Arts in 1986 and the Golden and Public awards at the 52nd Salon des Beaux Arts in 1987, among others.
